All Water Activities VBA (“AWA Aruba”, “we”, “us”) operates awaaruba.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, contact us or book a charter with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, your message and any other details you choose to include. If you leave a review on our website, we receive your name, email address, rating and review.
- Booking information. To organise your charter we may ask for the names of the lead guest and group, group size, contact details, preferred date and time, and requests such as dietary needs, drink preferences or special occasions.
- Online bookings and payments. Online bookings and payments are handled by our booking provider, Deep Water Booking. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Information you enter on their booking pages is also covered by their own privacy policy.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the website that referred you and your approximate location, using cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
3. How we use your information
- To answer your questions and send you quotes.
- To arrange and deliver your charter, including contacting you about your booking, timing, weather changes and add-ons.
- To handle changes, cancellations and refunds under our cancellation policy.
- To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it.
- To protect our website from spam and misuse.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not currently send marketing emails. If we start doing so, we will only send them with your permission, and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.
4. Cookies and analytics
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) helps us understand how many people visit our website, which pages they view and how they found us. Google may process this information in the United States. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Jetpack Stats (Automattic, our website host) records basic visit statistics.
- Website cookies from WordPress and WooCommerce are needed for features such as the cart and remembering your details if you leave a review.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work properly if you do.
5. Content from other services
Our website displays content from other services, including Google and TripAdvisor reviews, our Instagram feed, maps and Google Translate for the language switcher. When this content loads, those companies may receive your IP address and set their own cookies. We also link to our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages. These services are covered by their own privacy policies.
6. Who we share your information with
- Service providers that help us run our website and business, such as WordPress.com/Automattic (website hosting and spam filtering), Google (website analytics) and Deep Water Booking (bookings and payments).
- Our crew and partners, such as a private chef you have booked as an add-on, but only the details they need to deliver your experience.
- Authorities, when we are required to by law.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside Aruba, including in the United States. When your information is transferred, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer to protect it.
8. How long we keep your information
- Enquiries and messages: as long as needed to answer and follow up, and no longer than 2 years.
- Booking records: as long as required for accounting and tax purposes.
- Website analytics: according to the data retention settings of Google Analytics, after which it is deleted automatically.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Aruba’s data protection law and, for visitors from the European Union, the GDPR, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or ask us to limit how we use it;
- withdraw any permission you have given us.
To make a request, email booking@awaaruba.com. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
10. Children
Our website is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Details about children joining a charter are provided by the adult making the booking and are used only to arrange the trip.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No website or email service is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
